1. What can I expect during the first meeting?
The first conversation is 20–25 minutes and is complimentary. It is relaxed, focused, and obligation-free.
We will ask about your income, your RSU vesting schedule, your super balance, your investment position, and most importantly what financial independence looks like for you. From there we tell you what is urgent, what is important, and what can wait. We will give you a clear picture of whether we are the right fit and what working with us would actually involve.
Most people say the initial conversation is clarifying not because we have all the answers yet, but because the right questions surface things that had been sitting in the background unresolved.
2. How do you tailor advice to my specific situation?
We start with your complete financial picture – income, RSU schedule, super, existing investments, tax position, and your goals. From there we build a personalised plan that includes specific recommendations, the reasoning behind each one, and detailed modelling showing how the plan works in real numbers.
You will not be asked to take a leap of faith. Every recommendation comes with a clear explanation of what it is, why it is in your interest, and what it is projected to achieve. Our goal is informed decisions, not deferred trust.
3. How much time do I need to commit?
We need four hours of your time in the first year we work together, then two hours per year afterwards.
If that feels unreasonable and you cannot commit that time, we are probably not the right fit. You need to help us help you. Within those hours, we handle the research, the modelling, the implementation, and the ongoing monitoring – so you can stay focused on your career and your life without the financial details falling through the cracks.
4. What if my financial situation changes after we have created a plan?
Life changes – a new role, a redundancy, a large RSU vest, a property purchase, a move overseas. Your financial plan needs to be flexible enough to absorb those changes without starting from scratch.
If something significant shifts, we revisit and adjust the plan. That is part of what ongoing advice covers. We also conduct internal reviews of all client plans and portfolios on a monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual basis – so adjustments happen proactively, not just when you flag something.
5. How often will we review my financial plan?
At minimum, once a year in a formal strategic review. If there are significant life changes – a large vest, a job change, a move overseas, a property transaction – we schedule additional reviews as needed.
On top of strategic reviews, we run internal reviews of all client plans and portfolios monthly, quarterly, and semi-annually. You will not be left waiting for your annual review to catch something that needed attention in March.
