The problem nobody talks about in tech.

If you are earning great money in tech, probably a six-figure income, RSUs vesting, bonuses hitting the account but you're watching a huge chunk disappear to the ATO every year, and you're not entirely sure your financial life is where it should be by now... you're in the right place.

You're not bad with money. You're just operating without a strategy built for someone in your position. Most financial advice wasn't designed for tech professionals. It doesn't account for equity compensation, concentration risk, Division 293, or what to actually do when your RSUs vest. And your accountant? They lodge returns. They don't advise.

That gap is exactly why My Wealth Choice exists.

I Work Exclusively With Tech Professionals

Not as a marketing tagline. It is a deliberate practice decision. My clients work at companies like Microsoft, Atlassian, Amazon, Canva, Salesforce, and Google. They earn $250,000 or more when you include salary and equity. Their compensation packages are complex. Their tax situations are specific. And the financial complexity they're navigating -RSUs, ESPPs, variable bonuses, concentration risk, requires an adviser who already understands the terrain.

I've worked with 400+ tech professionals for more than 20 years. This isn't a niche I drifted into. It's where I chose to go deep.

If you're a tech professional serious about building real wealth  not just earning well - I am able to help.

Why I Do This

My journey into financial planning started in my second year of university.

I took on an internship as a financial planner, and it clicked immediately. It combined everything that mattered to me: analytical rigour, strategy, and the ability to genuinely change the trajectory of someone's life. I never left.

I grew up with strong financial role models. My father taught me the disciplines of investing, saving, seizing opportunity and creating life choices. My mother taught me patience, wisdom, the power of time and empathy. I've spent my career trying to bring both into every client relationship.

What drives me now is what drove me then: I want the people I work with to have more choices. More control. More freedom. Not just a bigger number in a super fund but the actual ability to decide how they spend their time, where they live, when they stop working. That's what a good financial plan delivers. And that's what I show up to build, every day.

My Qualifications & Experience

I hold a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Finance, along with an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning, with specialist accreditations in SMSF advice, Margin Lending, and Geared Investments. I'm a member of the Financial Advice Association Australia.

Before founding My Wealth Choice, I spent years at CBA and AMP, coached and trained financial advice teams, and lectured at the University of Sydney. Beyond Australia, I served as an economic adviser to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) - work that gave me a perspective on wealth, policy, and economic systems that most advisers simply don't have.

I've appeared on Australian television and radio, sharing insights on financial planning and economic matters, and I've spent more than two decades in the rooms where complex financial decisions are made.

My Wealth Choice gives clients access to over 850 investment products across more than 100 fund managers - with five service tiers so you pay only for what you need, and a 30-Day Happiness Guarantee so there's no risk in finding out.

How I Think About Money

Twenty years of working with high-income earners taught me a few things that don't appear in most financial planning textbooks.

I never believed in negative gearing as a default strategy. Too many people chase tax deductions into assets that don't actually build wealth. Property, used strategically, is one of the most powerful levers available to Australians  but only when it's part of a coherent plan, not a reaction to a tax bill.

I believe most high earners are dramatically underestimating the risks in their current setup. Inaction and autopilot are expensive. Not because anything is obviously wrong but because the ATO is quietly collecting money you could have legally kept, your super is probably sitting in the wrong structure, and your RSUs are being treated as income rather than as a wealth-building tool.

I believe the best financial advice is built alongside the client, not handed to them. A plan you don't understand is a plan you won't execute. My role is to make complexity make sense and then to implement it with you.

And I believe financial planning should be anchored to your life, not to products. The question isn't "what should I invest in?" The question is "what do I want my life to look like, and what does my money need to do to get me there?"

That philosophy is the foundation of The Confident Choice System™ - my proprietary 9-step roadmap that takes Tech Professionals from financial complexity to clarity, strategy, and genuine freedom.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of work, I'm a husband and a father of two  and I take both seriously.

I've never missed a school event. Not because I had to choose between work and family but because I built my life so that choice doesn't come up. I believe the point of financial success isn't to accumulate. It's to live well.

Every year, my family travels twice. Not because we're ticking boxes, but because I can’t work more than 6 months straight and I believe experiences compound in ways that possessions don't. The memories we build with the people we love, that's the real return.

I'm also deeply connected to community. I believe financial education should be accessible, not gatekept. Part of what I do - through my newsletter, my podcast, and my public commentary - is make the complex simple for people who haven't had a seat at the table yet. I also contribute a minimum of 1% of the practice revenue to charity.

If any of this resonates, I think we'd probably work well together.

If you're a tech professional with RSUs vesting and you're not sure what to do - or you suspect you've already paid more tax than you needed to - this guide is for you.

Escaping the RSU Tax Trap walks you through:

  • How RSUs are taxed in Australia and where most tech professionals get caught out

  • The most common mistakes made at and after vesting - and how to avoid them

  • Strategies that may help reduce your tax liability on RSU income (legally, with ATO compliance in mind)
